10 July Sunday evening Welcome Dinner MOKSA restaurant
An exquisite meal set
upon anagama-fired ware at the restaurant of director Hillary Kane’s
husband. A relaxed evening in which
participants can get to know one another and share their stories and intentions
for being here. Dessert will be served
with a double slideshow given by Brian Kakas and Eva Champagne, as an orientation to each as artists and makers,
followed by a review of the workshop schedule and a general fanning of the
fires of enthusiasm!

various kiln designs / firing methods
9:30-12noon: Laying Block foundation and floor

Laying and Framing GCAC

talk: examples of historical and contemporary artist and artworks utilizing
soda/salt firing methods and kilns.
9:30am-12noon mud mixing / stacking brick for
chimney

1pm-4pm Completion of arch from morning
activities and finish stacking front + rear walls and chimney completion. Then adding 1”insulation and castable layer
to exterior roof
